Butler Rose is delighted to be working with a well-established and modern accountancy practice that is currently looking to recruit a Part-Qualified Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team in Thame.

As a Semi-Senior, you will play an integral role in supporting the senior members of the team with a broad range of accountancy services, including year-end accounts preparation, audit, tax returns, bookkeeping, and liaising with clients on a regular basis.

About the Role:

  • Preparing financial statements for a wide range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Preparing tax returns, identifying tax reliefs, explaining liabilities, and handling more complex tax queries than the juniors, including identifying basic tax planning opportunities
  • Bookkeeping and management of client accounts.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Independently perform audit tests, plan audit sections to identify and mitigate risks, review Trainee work, ensure timely completion of write-ups, attend stocktakes, and communicate effectively with clients and Trainees.
  • Maintaining client relationships and offering advice on financial matters.
  • Supervision of junior staff members, providing guidance and support.
  • Handling client queries and providing proactive support to clients.

About You:

  • ACA/ACCA part-qualified or equivalent (or currently studying towards).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development.
