Coating Inspector

Norfolk

1 year Temp position with possible extension

To support industrial coating quality control on new work scopes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Inspection & Assessment

  • Conduct thorough inspections of coatings applied to various components, structural steel, pipes etc.
  • Assess coating quality, adhesion, thickness, and overall condition.
  • Identify and document any defects or non-conformities.

Quality Control

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with standards and project specifications.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures.
  • Review and approve inspection reports and test results.

Documentation

  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and quality control measures.

Tech Support

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams regarding coating selection, application methods, and quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the resolution of coating-related issues and problems.
  • Assist in the organisation of calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.

Training & Development

  • Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance certification and industry knowledge
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior inspectors or other team members.

Education

  • NACE Level 2 (or equivalent) Coating Inspector Certification

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and codes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
