Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious NPD Packaging Developer to join their business.
Reporting into the Senior Packaging Technologist, this role is an excellent opportunity for a Food or Fresh Produce professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.
Key responsibilities:
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative packaging solutions.
* Ensure the availability of samples and relevant information to meet product development deadlines.
* Identify and develop new materials and supplier capabilities.
* Execute factory trials to support product development and launch.
* Support the generation of product information, specifications, and packing disciplines.
* Manage transit test activity and approvals with the NPD Manager.
* Approve technical aspects of artwork and ensure final sign-off to the printer.
* Approve the functionality of imported packaging and components from the Far East.
* Ensure the supply of new and improved packaging to meet future business needs.
* Identify and satisfy packaging materials performance requirements, including timely sourcing of trial materials.
* Manage factory trial activity on packaging projects, ensuring alignment with product development.
* Conduct technical assessments and approvals of new packaging specifications.
* Deliver packaging solutions that meet retailer requirements, including shelf depths and handling weights.
* Ensure all packaging aligns with business environmental requirements.
* Liaise with suppliers to communicate functional requirements and source trial materials.
* Record packaging waste information
