Quantity Surveyor - Heavy Highway Projects

A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, specializing in complex and challenging heavy highway projects. About the Role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and success of our heavy highway projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing accurate and detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
  • Administering and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Overseeing procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts.
  • Monitoring actual project costs against the approved budget, identifying and analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Evaluating and valuing variations and claims arising from project changes or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Preparing and negotiating claims against contractors and subcontractors for additional costs incurred.
  • Analyzing and responding to claims submitted by contractors, ensuring fairness and compliance with contract terms.
  • Potentially lodging claims on behalf of the company if necessary.
  • Providing regular reports on cost performance to project managers and stakeholders.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • You have a minimum of [Number] years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus on heavy highway projects, including major road construction, bridge projects, or tunnel works.
