We are seeking a Maths SEMH Teacher to join our supportive team in Thetford. This permanent role is ideal for a compassionate educator who specializes in working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons to students with SEMH needs, ensuring that each student can achieve their potential.
  • Develop individual learning plans that cater to the specific emotional and educational needs of students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and tools to maintain a stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external agencies to plan and coordinate comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet their evolving needs.
  • Provide pastoral care and support, helping students to develop coping mechanisms and resilience in both academic and personal contexts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching students with SEMH needs or similar educational settings.
  • Proven ability to manage classroom behavior and implement effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with students facing emotional and mental health challenges.
  • A patient, understanding, and resilient approach to teaching and student interaction.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in the field of SEMH education.
