- Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's standard product portfolio, including air heaters and controls.
- Learn and utilise internal proposal programmes, costing, and heating calculations.
- Prepare quotations, specify heating equipment, and negotiate orders.
- Review and understand terms and conditions of sale.
- Follow up on quotations and respond to technical queries from customers.
- Identify potential leads, OEM customers, and establish a distribution network.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for new markets and industries.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers within specific regions and industries.
- Conduct business development activities, including cold calling potential prospects.
- Arrange and attend customer meetings and presentations to promote company products and services.
- Monitor global oil and gas/petrochemical projects and industry trends.
- Focus on maximising potential sales opportunities with OEMs and related packagers in the UK and Europe.
- Research new leads, markets, and applications, and attend industry exhibitions across Europe.
- Produce monthly sales and activity reports.
- Collaborate with management to define and implement strategic growth plans.
- Support new product development initiatives.
- Ensure quotations meet customer requirements and comply with relevant industry regulations.
- Expect regular UK and EU travel as part of the role.
- Proven track record in sales, with previous account management experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in technical product sales, ideally in an external sales role.
- Ability to engage with senior management, technical teams, and customers effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills to position the company as a differentiated product provider.
- Analytical mindset with a results-driven approach.
- Tenacious and proactive in identifying and pursuing sales opportunities.
- Foreign language skills and knowledge of hazardous area certification would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence required.
