Our client is a non-profit organisation. Their charity shops help raise vital funds.
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Temporary Store Manager at our Thirsk charity shop.
Job Overview:
As the Temporary Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the charity shop, ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive atmosphere. This role will require you to lead a small team of volunteers, manage stock, and support fund raising efforts, all while embodying their values.
Working days:
- This is a part time role.
- Working hours are 10am until 4pm.
- Working days are Thursday & Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Management:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity shop, ensuring it meets performance targets, such as sales and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, clean, and organised.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that every customer receives a friendly, helpful, and efficient service.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional manner.
- Stock Management:
- Oversee the donation process, ensuring donated items are sorted, priced, and displayed appropriately.
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring that stock is rotated regularly and that high-quality items are prioritised for sale.
- Liaise with the area manager to ensure stock is replenished and waste is managed effectively.
- Financial Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including balancing the till and processing transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of daily sales reports and ensure accurate financial records are kept.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Help promote special events, offers, or initiatives to boost foot traffic and sales.
- Display promotional materials in the shop and encourage customers to support the charity.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous retail or management experience (preferably in a charity shop environment).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Organised with good attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to handle financial transactions and cash handling accurately.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
Pay rate:
- £11.73 per hour, paid weekly, every Friday, for the hours you have worked the week before.
- You will be paid via PAYE.
