Overview:
This is a major global Transport & Logistics business with a network of sites in the UK. They are now looking to appoint a Senior Health & Safety specialist who will hold accountability for the further development of Health & Safety programs across the business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing, developing and improving Health & Safety policies, processes and procedures across the organisation ensuring that there is a consistency to roll out and performance across all sites and for all employees.
  • Seek opportunities to continuously improve working practices through effective and clear communication and collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Carry out risk assessments, site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop Health & Safety training programs to be embedded in the business.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to promote a strong H&S culture, minimising accidents and incidents.
  • Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance.
  • Stay up to date with all relevant H&S legislation and best practices to ensure the company's ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans.


Person Specification:

  • An experienced and proven Health & Safety professional preferably with some exposure to the Transport & Logistics sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH qualification or equivalent certification in occupational Health & Safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and train at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to travel between sites as required.
  • Comfortable reporting at management level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
