Role Overview:

Our client has a new and exciting position for an experienced New Product Development & Compliance Manager to join their well-established & successful team. As a Culinary Innovator, you will lead the growth and development of complex sauce products incorporating both hot and cold fill products, whilst ensuring performance and quality of product formulations. You will be managing and mentoring a team across the NPD and Technical Services Departments, acting as a key resource across the two departments.

Role duties:

  • Lead the design and development of complex products ensuring performance and quality of product formulations whilst creating and implementing innovative sauces and associated processes adhering to quality standards.
  • Develop & encourage up and coming Innovators and facilitate their growth acting as a key technical and innovative resource within the team.
  • Oversee the audit processes to ensure customer service and standards are achieved on an on-going basis.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, providing leadership for projects, ensuring success rates in timelines and budget adherence.
  • Project Leadership - projects from concept to launch and any ideas successfully implemented in product development.
  • Quality Improvement - Reduction in the number of quality challenges within developed products.
  • Customer Services - Retain their very high standards and ratings and gain knowledge and experience of their customer database achieving full customer satisfaction.
  • Strong Leadership and Mentoring Skills - Ability to guide and develop team members effectively.
  • Innovation and Creativity - Strong aptitude for generating innovative ideas and solutions. Willingness to explore innovative approaches and experiment with novel ingredients and techniques.
  • Leadership and Mentorship - Experience in leading teams and mentoring new and developing team members. Ability to inspire and guide others towards achieving project goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication- Strong people skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and findings.
  • In this customer focused role, you'll also work in partnership with a number of the company's retail clients, as well as a growing food brand, influencing the direction of key NPD projects and presenting new range ideas to really excite and inspire key decision makers.

Role Requirements:

  • Enhanced technical Knowledge in Food Science and Product Development: Expertise in food chemistry, microbiology, nutrition and cold fill products.
  • Innovative thinking: - Ability to drive new product ideas and project management skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities: A team player with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced food science: with a high level of understanding food science principles, including food chemistry, microbiology, and nutrition. Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements. Enthusiastic about learning and exploring innovative ideas.
  • Product Formulation Expertise- Proficiency in developing and refining complex food product formulations. Ability to balance flavours, textures, and nutritional content in product development.
  • Problem Solving- Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues in product development. Capability to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions to inform product improvements.
  • Project Management - Advanced skills in planning, managing, and executing projects from concept to completion. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
  • Quality Assurance - In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to implement them effectively. Ensure all products meet high safety and quality standards working with the Quality Department.
  • Market Research and Consumer Insights- Ability to conduct and interpret market research to guide product development. Understanding of consumer trends and the competitive landscape.
