ABOUT THE ROLE

A new vacancy you will play a key role in ensuring the effective financial management of the company accounts. This dynamic, hands-on role requires providing expert financial advice, risk assessment, and promoting best practices to drive informed decision-making across the organisation.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including budget setting, forecasting, and cash management, while delivering financial solutions that align with organisational objectives. As a crucial member of the management team, you will influence decisions, provide financial insight, and build a solid team of Accountants around you

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive financial management for assigned areas, ensuring effective budget planning and monitoring.
  • Manage a small team to deliver accurate financial operations.
  • Conduct cash management, investment decisions, and borrowing arrangements.
  • Offer business advice on Revenue and Capital to ensure budget holders meet their financial goals.
  • Develop financial reports, produce technical notes for annual accounts, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Lead on insurance and VAT matters, managing claims and ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Provide training to non-finance staff, fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure accurate data submission for financial returns, grants, and statistical reports.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Part or full qualified CCAB qualified or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management and budgeting
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage workloads, and meet deadlines
