2nd Line Support role - Tonbridge - £35k- £43k

Take on a fabulous opportunity to join a prestigious education establishment in a picturesque area of West Kent in a full-time permanent role onsite as a '2nd line'-esque Support & Server Analyst as part of a growing IT team. Enjoy a varied role where you will bring skills across helpdesk support and server support into this blended role, as well as benefiting from support and training to grow skills in the cybersecurity space too!

You will be proving a high quality, professional standard of customer service as part of an established IT support team and enjoy helping people from children to senior leaders with a logical, consistent approach to problem solving and excellent communication skills.

Skills required for the Support & Server Analyst role include a combination of:

  • Windows based devices
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Azure, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Radius & Group Policies
  • Backup technologies

Desirable skills sought after for the Support & Server Analyst role include:

  • SQL Server
  • Window Server, SQL server and VMWare
  • Veeam and Cloud backup technologies
  • Microsoft 365 (including Azure, Exchange, Teams and SharePoint)
  • Any knowledge of / exposure to cybersecurity would be a bonus

This Support & Server Analyst role will incorporate three areas of focus across helpdesk support, server support and offer progression across cybersecurity too:

  • Helpdesk support work will include managing NTFS permissions, providing remote access for 3rd parties to servers, MS Teams on 365, Wi-Fi access, password issues and occasional device troubleshooting (60% of the day to day)
  • Server support will compromise of administrative functions, setting up new servers, upgrades on SQL and Windows, VMware upgrades, backups and restoring (40% of the day-to-day)
  • Cybersecurity response support around security threats, vulnerabilities, attacks and requests as well as contributing towards writing cybersecurity policies and managing the team’s risk process (you will receive training and support to achieve this over time)

The offering for the Support & Server Analyst role is a full time post with a salary up to £43,000 depending on experience and skillset, and benefits include a pension scheme increasing to a very attractive 10% contribution, fitness centre membership and much much more. You are required to be based fully onsite in West Kent - there is no hybrid or remote working flexibility for this position, given the nature of the organisation and education establishment setting.
