About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our vibrant, high-achieving secondary school in Tonbridge. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of tech leaders and work with a talented and motivated student body. As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons, promoting excellence in learning, and fostering a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a dynamic and inspiring Computer Science provision to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Supporting students to reach high levels of skill and success in Computer Science.
  • Considering the school's 'Pure Potential' belief and how this can be interpreted and applied within the Computer Science Department to encourage growth and achievement.
  • Developing and implementing creative and effective pedagogical approaches to Computer Science, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and academically rigorous.
  • Providing support and guidance to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Contributing to the development of the Computer Science curriculum.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
  • Engaging in professional development to stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Computer Science education.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Computer Science.
  • Experience of teaching Computer Science in a secondary school setting, preferably at GCSE and A-Level.
  • A passion for technology and teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Desirable:

  • Experience with coding languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends in computing and digital literacy.
  • A record of strong student outcomes and a commitment to academic excellence.
