Field Service Engineer

We are proud to represent this successful business exclusively in the search for a Field Service Engineer to join them on a full time, permanent basis due to an increased workload and internal progression!

Having worked with this successful organisation for many years, we can confirm that their Engineers are very well looked after!

A rare opportunity to be offered full training, relevant transferable backgrounds include telecoms or broadband, smart meter installation or similar.

Once fully trained, you will be working alone and managing your schedule independently once jobs have been assigned, so we are looking for someone honest and trustworthy who is happy to work on their own, and travel to multiple sites daily.

General responsibilities include:

  • Installing, servicing and maintaining bespoke electrical and AV related equipment (full training given)
  • Working on site, acting as a brand ambassador – customer base are varied commercial clients across multiple sectors including banking, retail, leisure and hospitality
  • Offering technical advice over the telephone
  • Planning and prioritising jobs which are assigned by the service team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Completing and returning paperwork to the team on time and to agreed standards
  • Regularly communicating with the office staff, being responsive and friendly
  • Looking after the company vehicle, ensuring it is well maintained
  • Liaising effectively with the Service team to ensure stock is managed
  • Undertaking overtime where possible
  • Any other duties as required

To be shortlisted for this Field Engineer position, you will have:

  • Some relevant experience in a field-based technical role e.g. telecoms Engineer, smart meter installer etc.
  • A full clean driving licence
  • A strong work ethic
  • The ability to plan routes effectively
  • Great customer service skills
  • The ability to pick up technical information with ease
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a good understanding of how to conduct yourself in a professional manner
