About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and achieve their goals. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to provide tailored assistance to each student.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Assist in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with diverse needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment to encourage learning and development.
- Help adapt lesson materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
- Support the teacher with classroom management and organisation.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN environment.
- Knowledge of SEN practices and strategies to support learning.
- Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
