What You Will Be Doing
- Create innovative mechanical designs for new product development.
- Utilise SolidWorks to design and develop jigs and fixtures.
- Effectively communicate design specifications and insights to team members, clients, and partners.
- Collaborate with contractors and supply chain to ensure adherence to quality standards, budget constraints, and project timelines.
- Convert engineering concepts into effective mechanical solutions, implementing best practices.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Mechanical Design Experience: Preferably within the fibre optics industry or a related field (though not essential).
- SolidWorks Proficiency: Advanced expertise in SolidWorks, with a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and best practices.
- Materials and Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of materials science and experience with injection molding, CNC machining, and 3D printing.
- Industry Standards: Familiarity with regulations and standards pertaining to fibre optics and telecommunications products.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex technical challenges effectively.
- Simulation Tools: Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools is a bonus.
- 3D CAD Expertise: Experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD SolidWorks software.
