Quality Engineer

Main Duties

  • Define, create, and manage a strategy for meeting the program's quality requirements.
  • Ensure customers' requirements are met by establishing robust internal processes and providing necessary engineering feedback.
  • Manage and continuously improve an agile quality management system and team.
  • Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.
  • Provide guidance to the inspection team and ensure adherence to quality best practices.
  • Establish close working relationships with suppliers to ensure the robust manufacture of safety-critical parts.
  • Audit suppliers for approval and performance assessment of both new and existing suppliers.
  • Develop strategies to ensure visual carbon composites meet customer requirements with a right-first-time mentality.
  • Utilize 8D principles for effective problem resolution and facilitate the resolution of complex, cross-functional issues.
  • Collaboratively work with suppliers to develop product specifications aligned with process capability

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of client or customer-facing experience.
  • Proven and skilled use of CAD, with CATIA v5 preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing requirements, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to support the creation of specifications within budget and timing requirements.
  • Understanding of drawing office procedures with the ability to adapt and implement them as business and projects develop.
  • Ability to interrogate and analyze Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and other simulation techniques as appropriate.
  • Proven skills in detailed analysis from first principles thinking.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 requirements.
