Credit Control Officer

We're looking for a dedicated Credit Control Officer to join our finance team and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of incoming payments and maintaining customer credit limits.Role Overview

As a Credit Control Officer, you'll be responsible for managing and overseeing debt processes, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining the creditworthiness of customers. Your role will be pivotal in safeguarding the financial stability of the business while maintaining strong relationships with our clients. This is a fully on-site role that requires a meticulous, proactive, and solution-oriented professional who can handle credit control processes with efficiency and precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bank Posting: Accurately post bank statements into SAP, ensuring timely and precise record-keeping.
  • Customer Account Management: Maintain a stop list, issue statements, send out chasing letters, and actively chase overdue accounts.
  • Credit Control: Check credit ratings of both new and existing customers, set up new accounts, and agree on appropriate credit terms.
  • Customer Queries: Respond promptly to customer inquiries, offering solutions and clarifications where needed.
  • Invoices & Credit Notes: Raise rebates, ad hoc credit notes, and invoices as required, ensuring all are processed within one week of request.
  • Legal Proceedings: Initiate legal proceedings if customers fail to pay within the agreed terms.
  • Aged Debt Management: Ensure that no aged debt remains outstanding, meeting all deadlines and resolving any delays.
  • Month-End Responsibilities: Ensure all bank postings are completed by month-end deadlines, with all accounts reconciled.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, complying with all company policies and health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in Credit Control: Proven track record in a similar role, ideally within a fast-paced business environment.
  • SAP Proficiency: Ability to work efficiently with SAP systems to manage financial records.
  • Microsoft Applications: Strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for dealing with customers and internal teams.
  • Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to financial management with a strong focus on deadlines and accuracy.
