Highly regarded company based near Truro, Cornwall are looking to recruit a manufacturing permanent Purchaser/Planner

Responsible for the maintenance of the purchasing/capacity planning within MRP.

To manage the planning, purchase and processing of inputs into the manufacturing process.

Liaising with Sales and Production to maximise sales within capacity constraints, ensuring on time delivery and quantities of materials and the most cost effective prices and delivery methods are adopted.

Continuous improvement of the capacity and production planning processes, to include (but not limited to):

  • Negotiating with Suppliers;
  • Vendor management
  • Undertaking savings projects for the plant and identifying those areas that are underperforming;
  • Working with the Quality team to work with and/or reassess Suppliers to ensure the best possible price and better margins and remove any Suppliers as may be necessary.

To source and purchase materials,goods and services as required, ensuring production requirements are met along with profit margins.

To provide support to the UK Production Manager and the Purchasing Manager.

Ensuring that all documentation are retained in an orderly manner in readiness for any auditing.

Assist the Quality team with monitoring operators’ scorecards.

Accountabilities

To take the lead role in establishing and maintaining the capacity plan.

To monitor customer order intake and identify to Sales any orders that contravene capacity constraints. To also advise lead times to Sales.

To plan the delivery schedules and place purchase orders.

To aid in the planning of the pressshop and raise sub-contract orders for anodising.

Monitor&review Kanban sizes and yield quantities to optimise buffer stocks.

To plan inventory levels ofconsumable items, raw materialsand stationary andraise replenishment purchase orders as appropriate.

To raise purchase orders for items requisitioned by Engineering and other departments.

Support Production Managerin the procurement of production materials.

Control the levels of inventory on an assigned group of parts/products by ensuring planning parameters are accurately maintained in the ERP system.

Create and execute procurement plans ensuring all parts are delivered to specification at negotiated price to allow on time release of the schedule under the supervision of your line manager.

Identify and react to short term material plans that do not meet customer requirements.
