Our client, a highly regarded and inclusive academy located in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, is seeking an experienced and committedFinance Officerto join their friendly and busy finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and caring environment while making a meaningful impact in the school community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the management of school finances, ensuring financial controls are maintained and all aspects of accounts payable and receivable are efficiently processed. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and a proactive approach to their work. Experience in an educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager in maintaining effective control over the school's finances.
  • Manage and process accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
  • Monitor and forecast budget spending.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and control accounts.
  • Handle the income and expenditure for school trips and manage parent/staff enquiries.
  • Assist with budget preparation and year-end processes.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience in a finance-related role.
  • Be highly numerate with the ability to absorb complex information.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Be proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Excel.
