Exciting New Opportunity - Part-Time or Full-time Legal Secretary/Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our modern and forward-thinking law firm. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that offers a competitive salary, a wonderful benefits package, and the flexibility of hybrid working. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department.
  • Type legal documents from hand-written notes or digital dictation.
  • Scan, email, and fax correspondence and documents as required.
  • Manage file opening, closing, and filing of all relevant documents.
  • Prepare photocopies and trial bundles.
  • Answer routine phone calls, take messages, and manage new enquiries.
  • Organize internal and external meetings by managing Fee Earner diaries.
  • Undertake online searches (TM / Search Choice).
  • General typing, including completion statements, searches, and Land Registry forms.
  • Provide support to other secretaries across the firm, as needed.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Specialist Skills Required:

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Word. Basic PowerPoint and Excel knowledge would be useful.
  • Experience working with Practice Management Systems is an advantage.
  • Strong telephone skills and professional communication.

Personal Skills Required:

  • Interest in legal matters and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Well-organised, conscientious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong grammar and communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Enjoy interacting with others, displaying tact, patience, and understanding.
  • Professional appearance.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Good standard of general education, especially in English.
  • Numerate and literate with strong word processing skills/qualifications.
  • Legal secretary training or a relevant qualification is preferred.
