- Drafting and transcribing legal paperwork from handwritten materials or digital voice recordings
- Handling file administration, including creation, closure, and ongoing management
- Processing incoming and outgoing communications (email, scanning, fax)
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating diary management for Fee Earners
- Answering telephone calls, relaying messages, and dealing with initial client queries
- Offering general support to other departments when needed
- Prior experience as a Legal Secretary is essential (previous probate work is a significant advantage)
- Proficient with IT systems, particularly Microsoft Word (PowerPoint and Excel knowledge desirable)
- Confident and clear communicator, both on the phone and in person
- Strong interest in legal procedures and committed to discretion and confidentiality
- Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and a collaborative attitude
- Able to manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines with ease
