As a Personal Injury Claims Handler MOJ you will be responsible for triaging personal injury claims through the MOJ portal and on a direct claimant basis. You may also handle your own portfolio of OIC and MOJ claims. You will have experience of handling liability disputes, managing customer expectations and a working understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol, OIC claims and low value MOJ portal claims and current case law.

You will contribute to development of the Personal Injury department by helping the junior members of the claims department as a whole with training, referrals and mentoring.

Responsibilities

路Triaging all OIC/MOJ/Small claims/direct claimant claims

路Handling a OIC/MOJ/small claims/direct claimant claims and non MOJ personal injury claims.

路Assess liability for an accident and offer advice and guidance to customers giving an objective opinion on prospects and where necessary advise the customer where liability will rest.

路Identify and report to the Personal Injury Claims Manager any claims where poor prognostic indicators are present.

路Accurately record the information given to us by the customer concerning the circumstances of the incident.

路Improve customer claims experience by identifying process / control gaps in panel performance and agreeing relevant actions.

路Ensure our customers are treated fairly and that the customer receives world class customer service in accordance with industry and company guidelines.

路Support cost, service and process efficiency projects across the department, as well has participating in departmental projects.

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

路Minimum 12 months' experience of handling personal injury claims

路Minimum 2-year experience in handling liability claims

路Working understanding of cradle to grave claims handling, covering:

oFNOL

oLiability including split liability

oCredit hire

oFraud awareness

oPersonal injury claims (MOJ and non MOJ)

oPrinciples of indemnity

oRequirements under the RTA and Article 75

路Time management and organisation skills

路Tact and assertiveness when dealing with internal colleagues and Senior Management Team

路Excellent verbal and written communication skills

路Detail-oriented with the ability to identify salient points from claims files
