We are seeking an Accounts Administrator to support a Finance Director in delivering high-quality financial services to a firm and its clients. This role involves handling transactional tasks across client and office functionalities, requiring meticulous attention to detail and effective management of various tasks and priorities. The ideal candidate will maintain the utmost confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Purchase Ledger:
    • Process and pay supplier invoices.
    • Allocate supplier payments to invoices.
    • Process employee expense claims.
  • Sales Ledger:
    • Raise and process monthly sales invoices.
  • Cashiering:
    • Perform daily reconciliations of business and client bank accounts.
    • Accurately process ad hoc payments on our banking system.
    • Handle CHAPS & Faster Payments from client & office bank accounts.
    • Reconcile company credit cards and office petty cash transactions.
    • Allocate direct debits and standing orders.
    • Manage client to client transfers and other ledger postings as required.
  • Accounting:
    • Assist with the production of quarterly VAT returns.
    • Support the team in clearing down lockups such as WIP, chasing unbilled disbursements, and unpaid bills.
    • Monitor online bank accounts for the allocation of all incoming electronic payments.
    • Assist with internal reporting and other ad-hoc requests.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience within a law firm or similar professional environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Solicitor’s Accountancy Rules is desirable.
  • Numerate with experience in computerised accounts software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills.
