Term Time Teachers are working closely with a Special Educational Needs school based in Tunbridge Wells. They are in need of Special Needs Teaching Assistants looking for a full time role and happy with an immediate/ January 2025 start.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs. You will assist the teachers in providing tailored support to help the students engage with their learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The school itself promotes "Skills for Life and Independence" so that when pupils leave, they are prepared for the next phase in their lives and have the best opportunities.

Key responsibilities as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one or group basis within the classroom and throughout the school day.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to prepare resources and adapt lessons to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Managing and supporting students with emotional or behavioural challenges and using appropriate strategies.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

Requirements:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be happy to apply.
  • Relevant experience is the industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Be able to provide two references within the last 2 years.
