Chief Accountant
A Local Authority in The North West are looking to appoint a Head of Finance on an Interim basis. Spencer Clarke Group are working with the client to find the successful candidate.
What's on offer:
- Rates: 600-750 per day, inside IR35.
*Negotiable based on experience

- Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
- Hours: 09:00 -17:30
About the role:
The role oversees the day to day running of finance functions across all AFC boroughs including closing, system control and development, transactions, management accounts (DSG and General Fund), schools finance, projects and risk management.
Based in the North West (Hybrid):
Responsibilities:
- A proven track record as a successful strategic leader including the development of successful teams. Experience in leading and inspiring teams, undertaking line management, performance management and change management.
- Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Proven experience of key finance areas including financial control, management information and reporting, statutory compliance and reporting, Accounts Payable/ Receivable and systems.
About you:
You will have the following experience:
- CCAB qualified or equivalent
- A proven track record as a successful strategic leader including the development of successful teams
