About The Role:
As a Trade Counter Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting daily branch operations, working closely with the Branch Manager or Supervisor. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading by example and contributing to day-to-day operations
- Achieving sales targets by confidently selling and communicating product knowledge to customers
- Providing excellent customer service to both new and existing customers
- Picking, loading, and delivering products to customers using company vans
- Managing route planning, ensuring safe driving, and keeping the vehicle clean
- Supporting the Branch Manager with tasks and ensuring timely completion
- Adhering to health and safety standards, along with company policies
- Maintaining high operational standards and meeting branch sales goals
- Developing positive customer relationships while contributing to the overall sales targets
- Assisting with stock management, warehouse organization, and maintaining cleanliness at the branch
Candidate Requirements:
- Passion and energy to deliver excellent customer service and meet business goals
- A hands-on, customer-focused approach with a proactive attitude toward engaging customers
- A commercial mindset to drive sales and maximise margins while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative
- Confidence in using IT, including MS Office and industry-standard software
- A full and valid driving license
- Experience with branch stock taking is a plus
- Comfort working both in a small team and independently
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in the HVAC or plumbing merchant industry, is an advantage
