Established in 1819, this family jewellery business has been a mainstay on the High Street, with their clientele placing their trust in them for purchasing fine jewellery and watches for generations.

The business operates two stores today - one in Lewes and a second in nearby Uckfield - offering jewellery, timepieces, bespoke custom-made items, and a full range of associated jewellery services (watch and jewellery repairs, valuations, engraving, and ear piercing).

The business is seeking a part-time Sales Consultant who would be flexible regarding both store locations and the days/hours worked, which can be planned well in advance.

Job Role:

  • The ideal candidate will share the company’s vision of providing exceptional in-store service within the local community.

  • This is a client-facing role, and while prior product knowledge is beneficial, training in merchandise will be provided.

  • The stores pride themselves on presenting beautiful merchandise in the best possible way, so attention to detail and regular reviews of displays is essential.

  • This position will require initiative, as there is always more to be done in retail, whether it’s calling a customer to collect a repair, advising on a pending quote, or informing a client about a new delivery in-store that might interest them.

  • Flexibility is important to the client regarding your availability, as the rota can be planned well in advance, ensuring maximum benefit for all parties involved.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in retail sales would be advantageous, with previous experience in a High Street retail jeweller being particularly beneficial.

  • The successful candidate will need to be proactive once in-store, with the awareness that there is always work to be done.

  • Customers are at the heart of everything this business does, so any initiative or idea that can enhance the purchasing or consultation experience is always encouraged.

  • Taking initiative is highly valued - the company is fortunate to have immense industry knowledge within the team, and this knowledge requires the best support from staff to ensure the highest level of service is delivered.

Summary:This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for retail who is looking for a balance of regular part-time hours with a highly regarded employer. The role offers an interesting and varied remit in a field you are familiar with - a perfect fit for those seeking to further their career with a respected brand.
