Your new companyYour new company is a fabrication business based close to Ulverston, who has been at the forefront of their industry for over 25+ years. They specialise in design engineering, fabrication, supply, and installation of projects from start to finish. Serving diverse sectors, their services are often bespoke projects and include and include management services, maintenance, refurbishment, and optimisation.Quality and safety are paramount for this company, as evidenced by their Safe Contractor approval and a RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety management. They comply with several ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 1090, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. Additionally, they have an in-house demolition division specialising in dismantling and demolishing redundant plants across the UK, providing comprehensive services from initial design to final installation and beyond.

Your new roleThe Design role involves overseeing the design aspects of projects, from site measurements to ordering materials and parts, and producing GAs and fabrication drawings. It's crucial to ensure compliance with client specifications, scope of works, and current regulatory standards. The position requires developing design deliverables and completing the checking and approval processes. Responsibilities also include arranging the procurement of goods and services and preparing work scope estimates and quotations. Throughout the construction process, project health and safety, quality, and environmental matters must be considered. The role also entails liaising with all key stakeholders for the projects and taking responsibility as the Design Lead on allocated projects. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will need to have experience with Auto CAD and be proficient in SolidWorks and PDM or Inventor. You should have experience working on heavy construction or bulk handling sites and be knowledgeable about CDM regulations and relevant design standards. Additionally, the role requires experience in taking accurate site measurements for large projects at ground level and around all levels of existing structures using suitable access equipment. The candidate must be able to transfer Auto CAD designs to 3D models, work competently with large assemblies, and hold a degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering.

What you'll get in returnIn return, you will receive an excellent salary of between £45,000 - £65,000+ per year. Salaries can be flexible and overtime is available, so OTE can reach £75,000+.The standard working week consists of 40 hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends. There's potential for remote work, with 1 to 2 days a week spent at the Head Office. During project installations, you will be on call to customers and fitters, and occasional travel to job sites may be required.
