We are recruiting for a well-known organisation who specialises in finding suitable housing and care for older adults of modest means. They are always looking for ways to improve, with residents and people at the heart of their mission. They are expanding rapidly, commissioning 16 new Extra Care schemes in the past three years and are now looking for candidates driven by a passion to make a positive impact and genuine care for those in need.
Your new role
In Extra Care, residents live independently in their own homes within one of the schemes, which feature communal lounges, gardens, cafs/bistros, and salons. As a Housing and Care Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management and quality of the care service, ensuring viability and promoting person-centred provision to meet resident needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards and provide the highest level of customer service.
- Deliver a high-quality and responsive housing and care service in a safe and secure environment, supporting residents as needed and encouraging independence and choice.
- Collaborate with the housing provider, local authority, and stakeholders to foster a positive atmosphere within the Court, promoting social interaction and reducing isolation.
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates must possess a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification, or be willing to undertake this qualification upon appointment. They should have significant practitioner and/or management experience in one or more of the following areas: services for older people, residential day or community services for older people, Extra Care or Home care services for older people, or prevention or re-enablement services for older people. Additionally, candidates should have experience supervising and managing a small team, ideally within Social Care and/or Social Housing. Experience in Housing Management & Maintenance, Housing aid and advice, and working in a multidisciplinary team is also required.
