Academics currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Chemistry to work in one of their partnership Ofsted rated academies of 'Good' in Uttoxeter from January 2025.

This position will be full-time (5 days) and will be on a long term basis. For the right candidate the role does have the strong possibility of becoming a permanent teaching post and can commence sooner prior to January.

Our partnership school is known to have a unique curriculum and they eagerly encourage learners to combine theory with practical activities, heavily promoting to students to put all learning into practice.

Chemistry Teacher's that apply for this role must have:

  • The relevant Science qualification(s): PGCE, B. Ed, or BA Hons, with a Chemistry specialism, and supported with UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS/QTLS).
  • Be required to teach Chemistry at both GCSE & A-Level (KS4/KS5) and to have the ability to teach and inspire positive learning attitudes.
  • Confident communication and motivation skills in the classroom.
  • Have strong behaviour management with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Be able to adapt quickly within the academy and to be a good team player with staff.
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service or to be prepared to apply for a new Enhanced DBS with ourselves (cost applied).

Please be aware that your rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, and the client rate that is available. For longer-term assignments you will be paid according to your teacher pay grade.
