Software Developer

Location: Uttoxeter, Staffordshire

We have an exciting opportunity for a software developer to join our team in Uttoxeter. You will work on various projects and collaborate with Senior Software Developers and the business to design, develop and maintain high quality software, adhere to best practices and champion new approaches and practices within the team.

You must be highly motivated, analytical and willing to work closely with all parts of the business. Responsibilities will include translation of UI/UX designs to responsive HTML/CSS applications, further enhancements to the product’s .NET backend and the support/diagnosis of issues within all parts of the application.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years experience of .NET development in web applications, using VB .net.
  • Experience in ASP .Net/MVC
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, MS SQL
  • Good analytical skills & attention to detail
  • A love of solving problems creatively
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to work to tight timelines and go the extra mile when needed
  • Aptitude to learn and develop
  • Client facing
  • Proven track record of taking a project from design to delivery
  • Experience building eCommerce (or similar) solutions for large user bases in multiple languages

Desirable Skills

  • An understanding of OOP principles and SOLID methodologies
  • Experience in SOAP/Rest API
  • Experience in mobile development
  • Experience with Bootstrap
  • Experience of GIT Distributed Source Control system
  • Experience in Azure DevOps
  • Experience of Microsoft Azure
  • Ability to investigate technical issues and the creation of appropriate fixes
  • Keep abreast of technical and industry developments
