Job Description:

We are seeking an organized and proactive School Cover Manager to join our administrative team. As a Cover Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school by managing and coordinating cover for absent teaching staff. Your ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders will be essential to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Cover Management: Organize and coordinate cover for absent teaching staff, ensuring that lessons are covered effectively to minimize disruption to students' learning.
  • Liaison with Supply Agencies: Communicate with supply agencies to arrange for qualified supply teachers when necessary.
  • Timetable Coordination: Work closely with the senior leadership team to manage and update the school’s cover timetable.
  • Staff Communication: Liaise with teaching and support staff regarding cover arrangements and any changes to the daily schedule.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of staff absences and cover arrangements, ensuring that all relevant data is recorded and reported as required.
  • Support to Senior Leadership: Provide administrative support to the senior leadership team, assisting with various tasks as needed.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a school environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
