An outstanding Supplier Quality Engineer permanent position has arisen with a top-tier Defense / Aerospace / Engineering Manufacturing organisation based in West London / Middlesex.

The Supplier Quality Engineer, will be focused with Mechanical suppliers, and is part of the Sourcing department.

Responsibilities - Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Provide quality engineering support to the company supply chains, influencing supplier development to ensure that products are sourced to required quality standards and delivery conditions.
  • Focus on mechanical business processes, including machine parts, fabrics, surface treatments and explosives.
  • Use KPI indicators to measure and report on supplier performance levels, assisting colleagues from further Sourcing teams with the quality certification process of validating potential new suppliers.
  • Perform audits on both existing and new suppliers relating to their performance.

Skills & experience - Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Understanding of quality assurance best practices within automative, aerospace or defence sectors.
  • Seasoned manufacturing / engineering, quality control or audit experience, with understanding of machining and surface treatment processes linked to product manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and first article process/documentation details.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and production models with relevant supply chain experience.
  • Commitment to the highest standards.
  • Display curiosity, with an interest and enthusiasm for engineering.
  • Have an eye for detail and getting things right.
