Senior Payroll Officer

We are seeking an Interim Senior Payroll Officer for our client in Uxbridge. managing the payroll system and producing essential management information. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of payroll software, ideally Itrent, HMRC legislation, and exceptional numeracy skills.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Administer the in-house monthly payroll system to ensure all staff are paid accurately and on time.
  • Calculate payroll amendments and deductions, including overtime, PAYE, various statutory payments, pension contributions
  • Process starters and leavers 
  • Complete month-end and year-end HMRC procedures, including the distribution of P60s and online payslips.
  • Provide accurate returns to pension schemes and manage all pension scheme administration.
  • Handle payroll and pension queries from stakeholders 
  • Participate in staff inductions to advise new employees on payroll and pension procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws and maintain payroll records systematically.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations and contribute to payroll process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and HMRC legislation.
  • Exceptional numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information with discretion and in compliance with GDPR.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing with queries efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
