We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer/Assessor for Bus and Coach Engineering to join our client's School of Technical Apprenticeships. The successful candidate will be instrumental in preparing learners for careers in the industry, meeting the latest standards. This role involves assessing apprentices in their workplaces and in college, as well as teaching a range of standards related to Bus and Coach Engineering.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assess apprentices following Apprenticeship Standards in Bus and Coach Engineering both in the workplace and in college.
  • Teach a range of standards and modules related to Bus and Coach Engineering.
  • Provide support and guidance to apprentices, ensuring they meet their learning objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of apprentice progress and provide feedback to improve their performance.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
  • Engage with employers to ensure apprenticeship standards are met and to strengthen industry partnerships.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the apprenticeship programme through feedback and innovative teaching methods.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicles.
  • Experience in maintaining heavy vehicles/public service vehicles such as buses and coaches.
  • Up-to-date experience of teaching and/or assessing within the subject area.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage apprentices.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to employers’ premises in the local area.
