RT21 - Electrical & Electronic Engineering LecturerLocation:Ā UxbridgeSalary:Ā Ā£32,455 - Ā£45,260 Per AnnumOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently recruitingĀ an Electrical Engineering Lecturer/Assessor to join one of our prestigious clients. You will be working with a professional and supportive team with a range of teaching and industry experience, committed to the success of their students.With many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the role, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. You will be supported with career development in teaching, including receiving full funding for the Level 5 teacher training qualification, which is undertaken on site.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach, develop and improve Apprenticeship programmes in subjects and courses relevant to the post-holderā€™s knowledge, qualifications and experience.
  • Participate in open evenings and recruitment activities to ensure that potential applicants and apprentices receive accurate information and guidance.
  • Carry out apprenticesā€™ inductions and contribute to the design of induction programmes and training plans.
  • Carry out academic progress reviews.
  • Where appropriate liaise with the Collegeā€™s Attendance Co-ordinators to ensure the attendance, retention and achievement of apprentices.
  • Keep up-to-date with apprentice support and learning support arrangements.
  • Where appropriate ensure that apprentices receive effective learning support.
  • Prepare apprentices for career progression and/or further education and training.
  • Produce reports and attend events to provide information to parents/employers.
  • Teach on a range of programmes including Level 2 Foundation Competence, Level 3 Development Knowledge and Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualifications.
  • Prepare training plans, lesson plans and resource materials for teaching programmes.
  • Utilise OneFile and IT and learning technology to deliver elements of the curriculum.
  • Where appropriate integrate the delivery and assessment of Functional Skills into the curriculum.
  • Prepare assessment plans and schedules via OneFile.
  • Assess apprenticesā€™ progress regularly including the timely marking of work and giving feedback, both written and oral.
  • Set targets for achievement, retention and attendance and participate in the Collegeā€™s performance management programme.
  • Keep knowledge and skills up-to-date through self-study and undertake staff development relevant to professional needs.
  • Promote Equal Opportunities and implement the Collegeā€™s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Commit to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that this commitment is demonstrated in all aspects of the role as appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relatedĀ area.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the Further Education sector (e.g. DET, PGCE or equivalent) or willingness and ability to obtain one, supported by the College.
  • Assessor qualification, or willing to obtain one supported by the college.
  • Experience gained in the electrical/electronic engineering industry.
  • Teaching/training or assessing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical principles CAD - Fluid Sim/MultiSIM.
  • Practical experience of working in an electrical/electronic engineering workshop using wiring and testing equipment.
  • Able to deliver a range of technical subjects in electrical/electronic, PLC, designing and testing electronics circuits and control and computer engineering.
  • Experience of assessing people in the workplace.
  • An understanding of the Further Education sector, particularly the City and Guilds range of programmes.
  • Ability to engage with and enthuse vocational learners aged 16-19.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding in education.
  • IT Skills.
