RT34 - Motor Vehicle LecturerSalary: £32,455 - £45,260 Per AnnumLocation: UxbridgeOverviewFirst Military Recruitment are seeking to appoint a Motor Vehicle Lecturer on behalf of one of our renowned clients. You will be required to engage with and inspire learners mostly aged 16-19 and studying City and Guilds qualifications, with plans to eventually introduce IMI qualifications.You will be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Motor Vehicle/Automotive, with experience gained within the Motor Vehicle industry and will have some experience of teaching, training or assessing. More importantly, you will be a good communicator with a passion for Motor Vehicles. If you do not already possess a teaching qualification, the College will support you to achieve this. Our client strongly encourages applications from Ex-Military although all applications will be considered for this role.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Full time - Hours as per contract (52 Weeks per year).
  • Teach on a range of programmes in the relevant subject area, including City & Guilds and IMI courses.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and resource materials for teaching programmes.
  • Utilise IT and e-learning technology to deliver elements of the curriculum.
  • Where appropriate integrate the delivery and assessment of Functional Skills into the curriculum.
  • Prepare assessment plans and schedules and ensure students are aware of your expectations.
  • Assess students’ progress regularly including the timely marking of work and giving feedback, both written and oral.
  • Work towards the integration of students’ basic skills’ development in the delivery of teaching and learning.
  • Set targets for achievement, retention and attendance and participate in the college’s performance management programme.
  • Promote equal opportunities and implement the college’s equal opportunities policy.
  • Provide a secure, safe and friendly learning environment including implementation of the college’s Health & Safety policy.
  • Understand and comply with Safeguarding legislation and ensure that best practice is embedded in all working practices as required.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that this commitment is demonstrated in all aspects of the role as appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Motor Vehicle.
  • Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE or equivalent**) or willingness and ability to work towards a recognised teaching qualification, supported by the College.
  • Assessor award (A1 or equivalent) or willing to obtain.
  • Relevant experience in the Motor Vehicle industry.
  • Experience in hybrid/electric vehicle technology.
  • Teaching/training experience.
  • Ability to enthuse and engage with vocational learners aged 16-19.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Good classroom practice.
  • Good administration/organisational skills.
  • Commitment to learners and learner achievement.
