SEND Teaching Assistants – Resource Provision Secondary school

We are currently working with Resource provision attached to a mainstream secondary school, who are looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for a full time (term time only) temporary role.

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will be supporting the students in the resource provision as directed by the teacher in charge or the SENDCo in order to help pupils, succeed with their learning.

It takes a very dedicated and enthusiastic person to work with pupils with these roles. The resource provision usually has a small cohort of students with around 8 -12 pupils maximum. Job Spec & Description:

-helping with pupils’ school work under the supervision of a teacher

-You will be responsible for promoting inclusion, working according to IEPs and advancing learning, allowing the children you will be working with to make positive progress by removing barriers to learning.

- BSL level 2 or above is an advantage, but not essential.

-PECS or MAKATON experience is an advantage, but not essential.

-Helping pupils increase their confidence, self-esteem and independence

-Have knowledge/interest and experience working with Autism/Physical Impairment, Visual impairment, Language & Communication difficulties, Visual impairment.  

-Be a patient and positive role model for children
