Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established engineering consultancy, specialising in Utilities, to help them recruit a CAD Technician for their site in West Yorkshire.
This organisation provides specialist services in design and drawing management, supporting the majority of the UK's power distribution and system operators. The role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to develop or apply their skills in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Candidates will gain experience in areas such as Document Control, Auditing, and Administrative Support. Regular UK travel is required, and overnight stays may be necessary depending on project demands. A company pool vehicle or fuel card will be provided, along with prepaid accommodation and meals for site work. A stay-away bonus is also available.
Key Objectives:

Ensure accuracy and quality of technical drawings and documentation to meet client standards

Produce site survey reports highlighting drawing conditions and status
-
Align site records (Site Drawing Index) with on-the-ground realities
-
Cross-reference contract drawing lists with received and existing documentation
-
Identify and remove outdated or redundant drawings from filing systems
-
Update drawings based on field mark-ups
-
Develop and maintain filing systems on-site
Responsibilities and Duties:

Scan and digitise technical drawings on-site
-
Maintain project records using Microsoft Office tools
-
Modify technical drawings using AutoCAD
-
Manage document and drawing control workflows
-
Conduct audits to ensure drawing quality
-
File and return drawings in site-specific systems
-
Support the setup of new filing structures on-site
-
Provide general administrative support to the engineering team
-
Report regularly on project progress to line management
-
Serve as the point of contact for clients during on-site activities, including scanning, system updates, and drawing returns

Collaborate with internal teams and occasionally work independently on-site
Desirable Experience:

Strong reporting and communication skills

Experience in the Power & Distribution industry is a plus

Familiarity with AutoCAD and technical drawing standards

Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications

Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks
