We are seeking a diligent and committed Procurement Manager to join an Education Trust based in Outwood The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, oversee procurement processes, and ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services.

Description

Key responsibilities for a Procurement Manager:

  • Create and execute procurement strategies for designated categories (e.g., IT, catering, educational supplies, etc.), ensuring they are aligned with the institution's goals.
  • Market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the relevant categories.
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure the best prices, quality, and services.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
  • Lead the tender process for key procurement activities within the assigned category, ensuring compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations (2015) and internal policies.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities within the procurement process.
  • Collaborating with other departments to determine their supply needs.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.

Profile

A successful Procurement Manager should have:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
  • A clear understanding and awareness of local government/public sector procurement, including competitive tendering requirements, achievement of best value and the role of procurement in the delivery of best value and efficiency
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office and procurement applications.
