Tradewind have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant (TA) experienced with supporting behaviour at a primary school in Wakefield.

As a member of support staff at this school you will significantly contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting pupils with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural challenges. This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the educational journey of all pupils you work with daily.

Where: Wakefield City.

When: After October half term holidays.

Pay: £84- £90 per day, depending on your experience.

The school's goal is to empower pupils with the knowledge, skills and mindset necessary for lifelong learning and overall well-being.The successful behaviour support TA will be responsible for the progress and attainment of pupils in your care that need additional support engaging them in to lesson. In addition to this, you will work collaboratively with the class teacher and support the academic attainment of one child with behavioural difficulties on a one-to-one basis.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with learning challenges, ensuring their understanding of the curriculum
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, including setting up equipment and organising resources for lessons
  • Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect
  • Work effectively as a team player with the key stage and wider staff to share advice, resources and best practice

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent references to support previous experience in supporting pupil with behavioural difficulties.
  • A CV that covers full employment.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • All candidates for posts will be asked to provide suitable references and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
