Job Duties:

1. Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Special School setting

2. Assist with classroom activities, including helping students with their learning and personal care

3. Work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

4. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) as directed

5. Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

- Relevant experience working with individuals with SEND

Education:

Some relevant education or training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar role within a Special School environment is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students with SEND

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

- Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

- First Aid/CPR certification

Working Conditions:

- Work primarily within school hours, Monday to Friday

- May involve some physical activity and assisting with personal care tasks

- Collaborate with a diverse range of students, staff, and parents

- Follow school policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and health & safety
