Job Title: Management Accountant

Salary: upto £47,000 - £52,000 + Benefits + Hybrid working, Car owner

Evolve Recruitment are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Management Accountant with stable experience to join an established, dynamic company. The role will be varied and challenging; the successful candidate will be responsible for the ownership of the Management Accounting, Financial Reporting and controls of a Group of companies. This will include analysing and communicating results, assisting in statutory and tax accounting, and preparing and supporting the Groups Quarterly Strategic Review process (forecasting / Budgeting). In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to drive the Group Portfolio forward, whilst being offered opportunities to develop and grow within the organisation. You will have experience of double entry journals, IFRS and work in a highly dependent nature and in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce timely and reliable monthly management accounts to tight deadlines.
  • Identify and investigate variances against benchmarks, provide analysis of differences, and explore potential problems with non-financial department heads.
  • Take the lead on various projects, including process and system improvements.
  • Update Excel-based reconciliation / support packs for all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and Corporation tax packs.
  • Support and challenge the business heads with the Groups Quarterly Strategic Review process (forecasting).
  • Act as a Business Partner within all aspects of the role.
  • Contribute to the success of the overall corporate strategy.
  • Capture data and analysis to provide support to business decision making.
  • Deliver information packs to the auditors and meet the needs of the statutory audit process.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules, tax computations and cash flow forecasts.
  • Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers, advise on the business impact and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Involvement in on-going process development and transformation projects to improve business efficiency and profitability.

Skills, Experience & Qualities

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified / part qualified.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong excel skills are a must as well as experience of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience of Microsoft Great Plains software would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in an international business is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Experience in software or high-tech industry would be an asset.
  • Highly organized and methodical in delivering service.
  • A team player, coupled with effective communication and strong problem solving skills.
  • Solution-focused, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a good command of detail.
  • People oriented with excellent client facing skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work toward deadlines with limited supervision.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure to produce accurate and complete results.
  • Confident in their ability to interact with a range of stakeholders from varied backgrounds and most senior levels including the MDs of the divisions.
  • Persistent and resilient under pressure, with a good sense of humor.
