Robert Half are working in an exclusive partnership with a reputable, values-led organisation in Wallingford to recruit a newly created Finance Manager role on a full-time permanent basis. This is an exciting role that will be managing a small team, oversee the financial operations across the company whilst implementing processes and controls and be a part of a system implementation in the near future. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual that is keen to add value and someone that is passionate about leading a team and improve processes. The salary is between £37,500 - £42,500 plus hybrid working and other excellent benefits.

The Role

The main duties of the Finance Manager role will consist of the following:

  • Management of a team of x2; conducting reviews/appraisals, setting tasks and objectives and motivate/mentor the team.
  • Approving quarterly payment runs; ensure the data is coded accurately on the correct account and approve frequent payment processes.
  • Quarterly bank reconciliations; sign off and ensure compliance on all accounts.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the fixed assets.
  • Setting up supplier accounts; ensure bank details are correct, build/maintain relationships and deal with escalations/queries.
  • Assist with tax and VAT reports.
  • Processing claims submissions and ensuring all data is correct and up to date.

Requirements

To be considered for the Finance Manager role, you must ideally possess the following skills/experience:

  • Must ideally have experience within a similar role or an all-encompassing accounting role.
  • Ideally AAT qualified or QBE.
  • Must have experience supervising/managing a team.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Forward thinking
  • Highly organised
  • Experience in improving processes or a system implementation would be desirable but not essential
  • Confident user of Excel; pivot tables, lookups
