Join our team as a Direct Marketing Executive, where you will play a pivotal role in driving income from Individual Giving in alignment with our strategic plan. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our core aim of providing aid to those in need around the world.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide extensive support in the conception, content creation, production, and analysis of annual direct mail appeals, meeting both financial and non-financial targets.
  • Produce content for Acquisition, Retention, Reactivation, and Conversion campaigns, managing the administration of the mailing process including invoices and stock management.
  • Ensure the management and delivery of direct mail appeals align with planned targets, maintaining strict adherence to deadlines and maximizing learning opportunities.
  • Stay updated with data processes and work closely with the Data Manager to deliver accurate data selections.
  • Oversee external agencies from briefing through to the final print and dispatch of materials.
  • Record and update direct mail results using the charity’s Raisers Edge database to inform Quarterly Board Papers and other Marketing Reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as Press & Public Affairs, to deliver impactful direct mail appeals.
  • Assist in building and maintaining a strong brand, ensuring consistency in key messages and visual identity across all departments.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of direct mail appeals, taking responsibility for specific parts of the programme.
  • Analyze direct mail results to inform future planning and decision-making processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable relevant marketing experience, particularly in direct mail.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with a focus on brevity and clarity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with designers and a good understanding of print and production processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel; experience with Raisers Edge database or other marketing databases is desirable.
  • Creative and practical with strong organizational skills, able to prioritize and manage distinct areas of work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and flexible to adapt to changing environments.
  • Motivated by humanitarian causes, with a good understanding of the Catholic Church and ideally the charity sector.
