This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Council-wide Capital Programme. Leading an established finance capital team supporting all financial aspects of the Council's ambitious capital programme.

You will be leading a small team responsible for providing proactive and independent support to directorates, including responsibility for liaison with service accounting/finance managers and planning of resource requirements.

You will be responsible for leading on Capital monitoring, close down and budget setting , including identifying risks and working with directorate management to manage financial risks relating to activities and solutions focused within the Capital Programme.

Ensure that finance actively manages and reports upon risk within the finance service and within the service areas and projects supported. Providing robust financial appraisal and cost-benefit analysis for proposals to support decision-making on a business case.

You will provide high-quality financial information to senior managers up to and including executive directors to allow informed decision-making. Responsible for delivering a first-class value-for-money financial service that meets legal and financial rules and council aims and objectives. It is essential to have the ability to present complex financial information to a range of audiences including scrutiny panels and other meetings.
