This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an existing and growing Business Partnering team, supporting the Children's and Education Directorate through their transformation journey. You will lead a small team responsible for providing proactive and independent support to the directorate, including liaison with service accounting/finance managers and planning of resource requirements.

You will be responsible for leading the budget monitoring, budget setting and year end processes, including identifying risks and working with directorate management to manage financial risks relating to activities and solutions focused within Children’s and Education services.

Ensure that finance actively manages and reports upon risk within the finance service and within the service areas and projects supported. Providing robust financial appraisal and cost-benefit analysis for proposals to support decision-making on a business case.

You will provide high-quality financial information to senior managers up to and including executive directors to allow informed decision-making. Responsible for delivering a first-class value-for-money financial service that meets legal and financial rules and council aims and objectives. It is essential to have the ability to present complex financial information to a range of audiences including scrutiny panels and other meetings.
