Butler Rose Public Practice is thrilled to support our client, a top accounting firm with fantastic offices based in Walsall, in their search for an ambitious, AAT and/or ACCA part-qualified semi-senior accountant to join their award-winning business services department.
Role Requirements:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end statutory financial reports in accordance with FRS102-1A, including consolidated accounts, from both manual and computerised accounting records.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, including an understanding of partial exemption rules.
- Delegate, supervise, and review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
- Provide general accounting services and assistance to clients in preparing accounts and VAT returns, such as preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
- Recommend improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls, offering assistance as required.
- Keep Managers and Partners (where necessary) informed of the progress on the team's jobs.
Person Requirements:
- AAT and/or ACCA part-qualified with 3+ years' experience in a similar semi-senior/trainee accountant role at a prominent UK-based accounting firm.
- Strong experience in year-end statutory accounts production, management accounts, and VAT returns.
- Knowledge of UK GAAP, particularly FRS102 and FRS105.
- Strong academic background with A-Levels (120 UCAS points) and GCSEs (Maths and English at B/5+).
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in meeting clients face-to-face.
