Accounts Senior Manager - Accountancy Practice

Our client is a growing national firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and experienced accountant who is keen to join a highly entrepreneurial business, into an office near Walsall.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering outstanding customer service
  • Assisting the Director and Partners with business development.
  • Building your professional network and seeking out new clients
  • Meeting new prospective clients
  • Be active in the production of client proposals
  • Manage a portfolio of clients while being supported by the Directors and Partners
  • Providing proactive Tax and Accounting advice to your clients
  • Conducting regular meetings with clients, providing insight and analysis to clients on all business matters
  • Advising clients of their VAT liabilities and payment dates
  • To prepare budgets for assignments at planning stage and update for actual, with explanations of variances arising
  • Support clients in their cashflow and business plan development and monitoring needs
  • Presenting statutory year end accounts and tax returns to the Directors and explaining the tax position
  • Conducting financial Health checks for clients prior to Year End

Team management

  • Reviewing work done by junior members of the team, including technical accounting questions
  • Review of Year End Accounts and Personal Tax Returns prepared by the team
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns using Xero
  • Discussing broader client business issues and how to manage them
  • Have an overall responsibility for the management of WIP on your client portfolio

The successful Accounts Senior Manager will be ACA/ACCA qualified with a few years post qualified experience. You will have experience in managing the preparation of accounts for unincorporated/incorporated businesses with good knowledge of the statutory and technical aspects, including FRS 102 and 102a. You will also have an excellent knowledge of corporation tax, income tax and VAT and the impact on accounts and the client’s overall affairs.
