Opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join an SME business

The Business

Seymour John are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with our client based in Walsall, who are keen to hire an experienced Finance Manager.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Managing Director, where you will take responsibility for efficiently managing the financial operations and supporting the HR function. Main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Bank reconciliations, posting payments, supplying payments, internal company transfers, HMRC payments
  • Manage purchase ledger function to include credit card analysis and reconciling month end statements
  • Financial Reporting to include recharges, petty cash, VAT returns
  • Payroll and HR Support
  • Prepare year-end files for audit across multiple companies
  • Reconcile control accounts and handle accruals adjustments
  • Provide documentation and analysis for audit purposes
  • Post final journals from auditors to complete the year-end process
  • Provide cover for credit control activities when needed, including posting cash, chasing debtors, and releasing invoices.
  • Adhoc administrative support with sales team and Directors alongside excel reporting

Personal Profile

We are looking to speak to candidates who have undertaken a similar role previously who can demonstrate sound knowledge in terms of the responsibilities required by our client. If you are qualified by experience or AAT qualified, we would welcome your application. This is a busy and varied role and requires a candidate with excellent communication skills alongside a good understanding of accounting principles.

Hours of Work

  • 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs / 8.30 -1.00pm Friday (fully flexible if needed)
